Controls

1. The Programmer
This consits oif a press key switch and a display window. Both are located in the centre of the panel. When the power is switched on the number '0' will be displayed in the programme window. This indicates that the machine is ready to be programmed.

A light continual pressure on the key will cause the H.L.C.C. wash programme numbers to be displayed in sequence from 1-9. When the desired programme number shows, simpy release the key.

If you contiune to press the key after the number '9' has shown, a series of letters and/or symbols will follow. Each of these stands for one of a series of special programmes which are also available. These are listed in thePROGRAMME GUIDE, on the control panel,, to the left of the PROGRAMMER. If you miss the desired proigramme, simply hold the key in until it appears in the window again.

2. The Centre Controls
There are seven keys in this section and above each is printed its function. The first key (next too the programmer) is the START or Economy 7/delay key. The next 5 keys all control an option, ie: a variation to the main programme, described above the keys. A light pressure on the appropriate key(s) will select the desired option(s). As each key is pressed, the light above it will glow to indicate the micro controller has accepted your selections. When you press the START key the programmer will comence and all of the lights will go out.

The same lights now charge function and will ight up in turn, from the left, to show the progress of the programme as described above the lights. When the programme is finished these lights will go out and the light below 'end' and therefor above 'door' will flash on and off to indicate you can now open the door to remove the wash.

The last key in this group operates the electronic door lock. The door will automaticcally lock when it is closed. When the mains supply is switched on, the light above the 'DOOR' key will cause it to open. When the door is opened a single bar will show in the programme display window to indicate that the power is still on, and when the door is closed again, the number '0' will show indicating that the machine is ready to be programmed.

SAFETY:
The micro-computer will only allow the door to open provided that -
1. The water level in the tub is below the port-hole
2. The motor is stationary.
3. There is no programme running.

3. Cancel and On/Off keys
These are the 2 keys on the extreme right of the control panel:
a) CANCEL KEY:This key is used if:
1. A programme has been started but has been wrongly selected. Hold the Cancel key until '0' appears in the window. Select the correct programme and press START.
2. If you wish to take clothes out from a running programme. Hold the Cancel key in for 1 minute then release. The light above the door will now glow to indicate the clothes may be removed.

When the door is closed again the 'ready to programme' sign will be displayed.

4. Wash Powder and Fabric Conditioner Dispenser
This is situated to the left of the programmer guide. Pull the dispenser drawer out and place the detergent in the middle compartment. The front compartment is used for the fabric conditioner which is automatically dispensed into the final rinse.

HOW MUCH POWDER TO USE

If the pre-wash is used (very dirty loads)

Put 1 cup (hard water) or 1/2 cup (soft water) for cotton/linen
Put 2/3 cup (hard water) wool/man-made or
Put 1/3 cup (soft water)
wool/man-made

If the pre-wash is not used (ordinary loads)

Put 1 1/2 cups (hard water) or 2/3 cup (soft water) for cotton/linen
Put 2/3 cup (hard water) wool/man-made or
Put 1/2 cup (soft water) wool/man-made

REMEMBER: Always use low lather poweder specially made for automatics
